These fruit kebabs are really enjoyable to make & super fun to eat, especially if you are a small child. This idea is perfect for dessert, snacks, lunch boxes, kids parties or just for fun! My two youngest children had a wonderful time in the kitchen making these kebabs. It went a little like…. ‘one for the kebab stick, one for my mouth’! By the time they sat down to enjoy their creations they were already full. Oh well!
You can use fruit that you already have in your fridge, however ideal fruits to use are watermelon, honeydew, strawberries, apricots, apples, banana, oranges or peaches. Cut the fruit up into chunks that are of a similar size. Other fruit, such as grapes, blueberries & lychee are also perfect & they don’t need to be cut up. Thread the fruit chunks onto a kebab stick one at a time to create a beautiful looking treat that the kids (& adults) will love.
It is wonderful to get the kids into the kitchen to spend time with them & to start to teach them the joys of cooking. Have fun.
I love this! It’s making me long for summer!
